Genetic Identity Day

Inspired by 2018’s Dutch Dag van het Donorkind (Day of the Donor Child) and created by the Donor Conceived Alliance of Canada, International Genetic Identity Day aims to bring awareness to the importance of genetic identity to a wider audience.

We believe that it is wrong to purposely create people who are denied knowledge about their medical, cultural, and genetic identity. Important personal information about our identities should not be deliberately withheld from us by government, doctors, or the fertility industry.

#GeneticIdentityDay is an occasion to join together with fellow donor conceived people, adoptees, and anyone else who has had this information withheld. We want to tell our stories and tell people that #geneticidentity matters to us.

Please join us on May 30th as we honor our genetic identities and assert this fundamental human right!
